Curriculum
We follow CBSE Curriculum as per NEP:
Foundation stage (Nursery to Grade 2)
- The primary goal is to develop essential skills for early learners and to establish a strong base for their future endeavors. A play-based method of teaching and learning encompasses the basics of languages (English, Hindi/Kannada), arts, mathematics, EVS , basic computer literacy, music and physical education.
Preparatory stage (Grade 3rd to 5th )
- Students in the 21st Century are faced with the challenge of learning about an interconnected world where knowledge is constantly developing. Recognizing that knowledge is not static, the programme is based on a concept-driven, inquiry-based curriculum framework.
- Important features of this framework are the explicit teaching skills, the development of personal attitudes and student engagement in self-initiated, responsible action. A play-based method of teaching encompasses the basics of languages (English, Hindi/Kannada), arts, mathematics, social sciences, science, computer literacy, music and physical education.
Middle stage (Grade 6th to 8th)
- Continuing with the spirit of structured inquiry from primary and foundation, and following the mission of CBSE, the middle years provide a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world and become critical and reflective thinkers.
- The focus at this stage turns to guiding students to become powerfully literate, well rounded academically and responsible first to themselves then to local community and finally to the global community. In addition to the core subjects of Mathematics, English, Science and Humanities, students have the opportunity to learn Kannada/Hindi, performing arts/visual arts and physical education.
Secondary (9th and 10th std)
The Secondary school curriculum acknowledges the fact that subjects like Language, Mathematics, science and social studies help the cognitive development of the child and, therefore require a greater academic emphasis. Further, CBSE also envisions the all-round development of students in consonance with the holistic approach to education and therefore, emphasize integration of co curricular domains with curricular activities in an equitable manner. In operational sense, the secondary curriculum is learner-centred with school being a place where students would be acquiring various skills; building self-concept, sense of enterprise, aesthetic sensibilities and sportsmanship.
